Father Dave was extremely helpful and provided my partner and I with so much information. He was quite patient with my changes, and even helped out 3 days before the wedding with getting us tables and chairs. He goes above and beyond. Father Dave and Deacon Chris have become not just very close friends but part of our family. We love them very much. Thank you, Angela & Catrina Austin

My then-fiancé/now-husband is a practicing Catholic. I am not. It's not that I'm not religious. I was born into a big Irish Catholic family and I was raised as such. But I don't agree with all of the tenets of the Roman Catholic Church and so I try to be a good, kind person and I call that my "church." Searching the web for a solution that would please both my beliefs and my husband's, I found out about the North American Old Catholic Church and about St. Therese... and then I found Fr. David Martins. He was willing to marry us knowing that my husband's background is Roman Catholic and my tenets run closer to those of the North American Old Catholic Church. I can't begin to say enough wonderful things about Fr. Dave. My husband and I fell head-over-heels in love with him immediately and knew that we wanted him to be our officiant at our wedding. But it was more than that... we instantly loved him personally --- as a friend. Our love for him is contagious. Everyone at our wedding loved him instantly as well. We had to move our wedding due to the havoc wreaked by Hurricane Irene and we had 2.5 days to notify friends and vendors of our wedding's new location... most of whom had no power, no phones, no internet. We had no time to write our vows. Fr. Dave to the rescue. He said such beautiful things in his Homily and I'm actually thrilled that it worked out that way. People haven't stopped talking about our wedding and about how Fr. Dave captured what was important to say when we didn't have the time to do it ourselves. We're in Connecticut. He's in Rhode Island. We don't get to see him often but we so wish we could see more of him. Don't hesitate to ask him to officiate at your wedding. No one else on Earth could have done a better job of marrying us, of saying such wonderful things about us, and of making our guests at ease when I was a half hour late! We're huge fans of Fr. Dave. Love you, Fr. D.! Love, Peggi

Father Dave Martins officiated at our wedding. Our actual ceremony took place at the Church of Our Saviour in Milton, MA, planned by Father Alex Oneto for the Holy Family Old Catholic Community. Saint Therese Old Catholic Church did not exist yet. We have attended mass at St. Therese's since our wedding and we find Father Dave a welcoming, uplifting celebrant. When he officiated at our wedding, we were allowed to help plan the liturgy. We incorporated Greek and Latin in the ceremony for personal reasons, and also included a Hebrew psalm. All were made welcome, including our Jewish friends. We also had a small choir trio from Providence who were wonderful. Despite the fact that it was nearly 100 degrees that day, Father Dave and Father Alex both remained joyful and gave us a truly spiritual Catholic wedding. It was for both of us the most religiously fulfilling day of our lives.
